The PSPad Program Editor
This is the recommended editor to use with PIC32-Basic as it has a highlighter syntax file already written. There are two files that control the colours and syntax highlighting for use with PIC32-Basic and these are "BV-BASIC.INI" and "basic.INI" Both of these are in the downloads section of this site.
Set Up
Before launching PSPad make sure that BV-BASIC.INI is in the Syntax and basic.INI is in the Colors directory of wherever PSPad is installed. Launce PSPad, turn off the Tool Panel using Shift F2, but this is just user preference. In the settings menu, Highlighter Settings a dialog will be presented.

PSPad setup
Select a <not assigned> slot on the left hand
side and then select BV-BASIC from the list on the right hand side.
In the colours tab of the same dialog box:

PSPad Colours
Select the basic colour scheme, press Load and then apply. The final thing to do is to tell PSpad to use the highlighter by choosing this icon and selecting BV-BASIC

Selecting a Highlighter
The other options can be switched off using the previous
dialog box if required.
